CASA concert assists children

To the Editor: On behalf of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Essex County, I would like to thank thefollowingmusicianswho helped make the second annual Concert for CASA a success:Joe McGinness and the In Laws, George Potter and Loose Connection, Tara and Kaitlin Diskin, Tammy Snyder, John Brooks, Ron Riddle, Tommy Wheelock andMelanie Bain. Also, a special thank you to John Grant who was themaster of ceremonies for the evening and a big thanks to Bill Larrow, (Moriah) superintendent of schools, andthe followingvolunteers who donated their time for the evening: Kim Harvish, John Beeman, Matt Pray, the Rev. Edgar LaCombe, JulieAnderson and Gabe Jaquish.Stewarts and the Mill Brook Diner also donated coffee and other items for the concession which was operated by the Class of 2008. Thank you. Thank you as well to actress Babette Renee Props-Treadway, who made a special guest appearance in support of CASA and our efforts. CASA is a not-for-profit organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings in Essex County. Funds raised as a result of this benefit will assist this program greatly in providing a voice for every at-risk child in our community.
