Big Dog Toby Keith headlines Champlain Valley Fair

ESSEX JUNCTION Country musics Big Dog Daddy Toby Keith returns to the Champlain Valley Fair, presented by Progressive, on Saturday, Aug. 30. The tour, which includes opening act Flynnville Train, is presented by 98.9 FM WOKO. The Labor Day weekend concert will mark Keiths third visit to the Champlain Valley Fair his concerts in 2004 and 2002 were both sell-outs, according to the Fairs General Manager David F. Grimm. Toby Keith is one of the most successful musical entertainers of his time, with more than 30 million albums sold, scores of smash singles including his current hit "Get My Drink On," recent No. 1 "Love Me If You Can," and numerous peer and fan-voted awards. He was recently inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and his two-disc A Classic Christmas collection is one of the best-selling country albums in the nation. We are thrilled to have one of country musics top performers back on stage in Essex Junction, he said. Toby Keith puts on one of the best concerts in the business. Keiths opening act is Flynnville Train, an up and coming country rebel rock band from Indiana that has been playing with Keith on tour and in Nashville. Tickets are $49.50, plus applicable service charges, and go on sale Friday, Feb. 8 at 10 am at the FlynnTix Regional Box Office in Burlington and Copy Ship Fax Plus in Essex Junction. Tickets are also available through the Flynn for the fairs other announced show on Aug. 23 at 8 pm with Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion, presented by Vermont Public Radio. The Champlain Valley Fair, presented by Progressive, is Vermonts biggest annual event offering 10 days of agricultural displays and exhibits, free entertainment, grandstand concerts, motorsports, midway and carnival, shopping and food. It was named a Top 100 Event in America by the American Bus Association in 2007 and again for 2008. Champlain Valley Fair was also honored as the top agricultural fair in America in 2006 by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.
