Indians narrowly defeat Lady Jags 49-45 JOHNSBURG The Wells Indians snuck a narrow victory over the Lady Jags during the Jan. 31 game. Johnsburg came out swinging through the first half, leading the Indians by 3 points at the break. The Indians rallied in the third quarter with Johnsburg trailing slightly, and kept the momentum just enough to squeak a victory at the final buzzer, 49-45. Amanda Plansker again showed the Lady Jags how its done, with 12 points plus 3 free-throws. Liz Gregg stood-out among the Indians with 12 points for the game. Orange defeat Schroon Lake 43-34 SCHROON LAKE The Indian Lake Orange handed a solid defeat to the Schroon Lake Wildcats on January 31, with a final score of 43 to 34. Cassandra Mitchell led The Orange with 14 points, 10 of which were from the free-throw line. Elizabeth Hamden scored the teams only 3-point shot, with Carli Reynolds and Maggie Evatt contributing 9 and 7 points each. Boys Basketball
Jags defeat Minerva-Newcomb 53-39 MINERVA The Johnsburg Jaguars soundly defeated Minerva-Newcomb on Feb. 4, 53-39. Adrian Veldman and Dalton Ordway led the Jags to victory, together scoring 36 points in the game. Minerva-Newcombs Chris Kellog nailed the games only 3-point shot, and led his team with 11 points for the game. Wells Indians get by Mountaineers 57-49 WELLS The Wells Indians had the home-court advantage during the Feb. 5 game, defeating Minerva-Newcomb 57-49. The Indians Zack Young could not be stopped, scoring 20 points for the game, including two trips at the free-throw line. Chris Kellogg and Sam Kelly led Minerva Newcomb with 11 and 10 points each. Minerva-Newcombs Jonas June scored the games only 3 -point goal.
