Spreading the word of Gore in the Big City

Greetings from the Mountain! Well, its true, the best football, and the best skiing belong to our great state of New York. Im so glad one of our patrollers bet me dinner at Black Mountain on the big game, and losttheir hot turkey sandwiches are the best after a day on the hill! By the time you read this, it will already be Ski Day #78 and Ill be in New York City waving the Gore colors. Mike and the cool snowmaking crew have done their best to make snow in the city, if temperatures allow. If not, well still be spreading the word and getting everyone excited about winter in North Creek. Word to the locals - use your Ski Bowl! February 15 is a Town of Johnsburg night there, so see Cherie at the Town Hall with your proof of residency if you havent already. Enjoy the new slopes and triple chairlift under the lights, or go tubing. Say hello to Pete Burns and the Johnsburg race team, who are often there after school on Thursday & Friday afternoons. Grab a cup of chili and sit by the fireplace. Help us celebrate the season that brings the first chairlift in history to your treasured North Creek Ski Bowl. Here are your weekly Gore scoops: Celebrate Valentines with your sweetie at Gore! A value-packed $99 day offers a pair of lift tickets, a souvenir photo from our friendly photographers, and a pair of hot chocolates! Enjoy! The JIs & JIIs just wrapped up - were excited about these events that bring overnight business to stay in the area accommodations and enjoy the regions dining. On Tuesday, we will host the Section 2 High School races. On Sunday, February 10 we are hosting the USASA Skiercross/Boardercross at the North Creek Ski Bowl - so check out the freestyle fun there! Presidents Weekend is right around the corner, so gear up! Lodging properties, stay in touch with us, and lets all get ready to turn the town up a notch! Fun Gore Factoid: A gore is an area of un-surveyed land. Gore Mountain was left off the earliest maps, as the surveyors had numerous difficulties in locating the true summit. Keep Smilin-
