The owner of an apartment building in the district requested a BPD officer force an evicted tenant to take trash with them when he/she moved. The landlord was advised the police did not have authority to take action in a civil matter. BPD received a report of an assault. Two women were involved in a dispute near Rite Aid. One of the women alleged an assault by the other. Statements obtained from both women were quite different. An investigation continues. Jan. 25
A BPD officer checked North Street and Monkton Road for a report that a motorist struck a dog. Nothing was found. The motorist involved later called and reported that the struck dog was brought to his residence. The motorist was advised to contact the animal control officer in Monkton. Jan. 24
A BPD officer attempted service of a Relief from Abuse order to a man at a Taylor Avenue residence. The subject was found to have fled the residence before the officer arrived. A BPD officer checked a neighborhood on the north end of the district after a resident reported suspicious noise outside. Nothing was found in the area. Jan. 23
An employee of a local business turned in two shipping tubes found in his truck. The package was address ti an address where he had an earlier service call. It is unknown how the packages got in the truck. The homeowner was advised she could pick up the packages at the BPD. A Vergennes woman came to the police station to advise officers that she was staying at a residence in the district while her ex-boyfriend moved out of their apartment in accordance with a court order. Officers assisted the woman in obtaining a copy of the order and confirming that the subject moved. Jan. 22
A citizen came into office reporting that a vehicle was parked on the sidewalk at the back of the park. The vehicle was ticketed. A second vehicle nearby was also found to be illegally parked. An off-duty BPD officer found three juveniles loitering on the Bristol Recreation Field. One of the three was found in possession of marijuana. A 12-year-old district male will be charged with Possession of Marijuana. All three will be given notice not to be on the property without a permit. BPD assisted a citizen locked out of her car on Main Street. The officer was unable to unlock the door
