Local Scout Programs
Bolton youth are fortunate to have a full range of scouting programs available to them. Boy Scout Troop 25 is under the direction of Scout Master Skip Kneeshaw who may be reached at 644-2003. Bolton Cub Scouts support five dens. The Tiger Cubs, first grade; Wolf Cubs, second grade; Bear Cubs for third graders; Webelos I for fourth graders; and Webelos II for fifth graders. Cub Master, Lori LaGoy, may be reached at 644-5008 For the girls, Bolton Girl Scout troops range from Daisy for kindergarteners through Seniors for girls in grade 10. Plans are already underway for two special fund raising events. Both events are sponsored by the Christine Nicole Perry Memorial Trust. Each year, the Perrys and friends work hard to raise money in Chrissys memory to help those in need. Past donations were to the Bolton Scholarship Fund, Warm the Children Fund which purchases winter clothing for Warren and Washington County children, the Guatamela Project, where money is donated to buy supplies and equipment for local doctors and volunteers from Glens Falls Hospital. The first event will be the Annual Bolton Block Party on May 18. The second is a House, Garden and Art Tour on July 12. Tickets for both events are now available at the Lakeside Lodge and Grille. Recreation Director Michelle Cushing has announced a new no re-entry policy for Rec Center dances. Effective immediately, anyone who leaves any of the Rec dances will not be allowed to return into the building. February hours for the Center are Wednesdays thru Fridays 2:30 to 6:30 and Saturdays 11 to 5. The Center will be closed anytime BCS closes early or is closed, including February break, 20 through 23. A secret movie day will be held on Saturday, Feb 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. A new release has been selected to play during this event. Enjoy a fun afternoon with your friends. There will be a Checkers Tournament at the Rec Center on Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 4 to 6:30. This will be a recreational tournament with prizes for the winners. Open to grades 4 and up. The trip to the Fun Spot on Feb. 15 has been cancelled. There is a contest to decorate the new wall that has been built in the Rec Center. Students may submit a drawing and the winner will receive a prize and have their drawing painted on the wall. For more information, see Michelle Cushing. Tapestry of Bolton
The Town Hall has available the Tapestry quilts depicting scenes in the Town of Bolton. This quilt was for sale during the Bicentennial celebrations. Anyone interested can pick one up at the Bolton Town Hall for $50.
