Review raises "doubt" for one reader

Dear Editor: When I read Dan Wolfe's review of Doubt in the January 30th issue, I confess I had my own doubt about whether we had seen the same play. Granted, that I and three companions saw it a day later, but we, in very marked contrast to critic Wolfe, were uniformly delighted by the performance. Moreover several friend who saw subsequent performance were similarly impressed. I was moved to phone Director of Vermont Stage Company Mark Nash the next day and congratulate him , not only on the fine performance of all of the cast, but on his choice of this material, which we have found to be almost always excellent. I find Wolfes claim that the Sister Aloysius acting was only skin deep, and that the other three performances were only reasonable characterizations, almost mean spirited. If this review turned potential attendees away, this was a real disservice to theater at the Flynn Space, and to the missing audience. Lawrence S. Hamilton,
