Pantry in good shape

To the Editor: The Ticonderoga Food pantry ended the year 2007 on a good note. The volunteers of the pantry appreciate the outstanding support our organization has received from many organizations, businesses and individuals who have held food drives, fund raisers and made donations on behalf of our effort. Our mission is to provide good, nutritious food to those visiting our pantry and the outstanding support we have blessed with will allow us to continue. Joyce Barry, our dedicated director for the past 15 years, decided to step down in 2007 and Margaret Beuerlein is now our director. The food pantry is located in the lower level of the First United Methodist Church and is open three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11 a.m. to noon. The Ticonderoga Food pantry serves residents of Ticonderoga and Putnam. Income guidelines are required and proof of residence on your first visit is needed. Income guidelines (set by the USDA) are $18,889 for one person, $25,327 for two people, $31,765 for three people, etc. Thank you sincerely to everyone who has supported the food pantry in 2007. All donations and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated. Margaret Beuerlein, director
