Newcomb Friends Near and Far, Past and Present By Marvin Bissell
Aida McCoy died Jan. 18, 2008 in Arizona. She was 86 years old. She was born in 1921 to R. Cecil McCoy and Lora Chase, probably in Newcomb. Her brother was Robert (Bob) McCoy. She wed John Hall and they had 3 kids; Dorothy, Donna, and Tom, all of whom went to school in Newcomb. They lived in the big brown house at the foot of Baldwin hill, West of Dillon's driveway. John was a construction worker. He died in 1989 and is buried in the Newcomb cemetery. It is planned to bring Aida back here in the spring. Her grandparents were Edmond and Anna( Louks) Chase, buried in Huntington cemetery. Her great grandparents were Caleb J. Sr. and Thankful (Preston) Chase, buried in Huntington cemetery. Her great great grandparents were Ebenezer and Sarah (Cheney) Chase, buried in North Hudson cemetery. Although people told me that Aida Hall lived in Arizona, The Post-Star obituary states that she moved to Austin, Nevada 10 years ago to be near her daughter Donna. Thank you!
