John W. Bridge

WILLSBORO John W. Bridge, 66, of Willsboro, NY died at his home January 27, 2008. He was born in Willsboro June 19, 1941 the son of Clifford and Beatrice (Pulsifer) Bridge. He graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1959. He entered the US Navy soon after graduation. During his enlistment he received many metals, awards and ribbons of commendation. These included National Defense Service Medal; Navy Achievement Medal w/star; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Navy Expeditionary Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; and Fifth Good Conduct Award. He retired from the Navy in 1984 and came back to Willsboro where he established an electrical work and appliance repair business. He was a lifetime member of St. Philip's Church in Willsboro. He was baptized in that church and his funeral service will be held there. John is survived by a son Jeffrey and his family Rachel Bridge, Brittany James and Kelby James, a sister Linda(Vaughn) Jaquish, a sister Susan(Peter) Jollie, a brother Chester(Rawee) Bridge, his ex wife Brenda Monahan, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Frederick and Randolph, and son Michael. The family received relatives and friends at St. Philip's Church on Jan. 31. A Funeral Mass followed. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in his memory be made to the St. Philip's Church Memorial Fund or the Willsboro Rescue Squad. Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
