Though Wemette is not yet sure when she will go on her trip to Paris, she intends to use some of that extra spending money to bring family members along on what will be her first visit to a European nation.
"My sister was very excited," she said. "I think her first words to me were, 'Take me with you!'"
Baldwin and Worthington travelled to the French Institute Alliance Fran aise in New York City on Dec. 5 to participate in the awards ceremony for the contest. There they met with several French dignitaries and businessmen and heard a performance of the European Union's national anthem.
"I didn't even know the European Union had an anthem," said Baldwin.
Most of all, Worthington was pleased to see her students recognized for their work.
"I'm very proud," she said.
