News from Countryside Adult Home

Residents of the Countryside Adult Home have been busy getting ready for Santa's visit. In November, many took a shopping trip. Also they had a visit rom the local Girl Scouts.

Other events at the home included Bible studies with Julie, a pet visit and a monthly birthday celebration. Thanks go to this month's visiting entertainers: Cliff & the Kitchen Pickers, Joan and Friends, & friends, and Julie & Friends.

The residents attended a Variety Show at Warrensburg Central School and enjoyed several Santa's workshops.

All are welcome to visit the Countryside Home virtually anytime.

Put your trash out on time; town news

The Town of Thurman requests that residents place their household trash by the side of the road by 7 a.m. on the regular day of pickup to be assured of timely removal.

The regular Thursday trash removal route will be changed this week for the holiday.

Trash will be picked up Wed. Dec. 24 and recyclables will be gathered Tues. Dec. 23. The same swap is effective the week of Dec. 31.

The Town Hall offices will be closing at noon Dec. 24 and all day on Dec. 25 to observe the Christmas holiday.

The offices will also be closed at noon on New Years' Eve and closed Jan. 1.

Nutritious food is available at a lowered cost to local households through the Extra Helpings food program. A variety of food is available in each month's delivery for a payment of $14 per month. A variety of food packages are available. call Norma in advance at 623-9649 to find out about the program and to sign up before the January delivery.

A snowmobile club meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Fri. Dec. 26 at the Thurman Town Hall, but check that it will definitely occur before you attend.
