Santa comes to town

NORTH CREEK - "Be patient," a parent said as dozens of local children stood in Ski Bowl Park this weekend - staring expectantly up the slopes for Santa's traditional arrival in North Creek.

"Here he comes!" one of the kids shouted as Santa was delivered down the mountain on a "snowmobile sleigh" courtesy of the Gore Mountain Ski Patrol.

The annual "Santa Claus comes to town" holiday event celebrates the season each year with Santa's journey down Little Gore's lift line to arrive in front of the warming hut.

After greeting the children and waving to the crowd, Santa and the kids were treated to a parade past the Nursing Home and along Main Street on several of the area's fire trucks.

The parade ends at the Johnsburg Central School where Santa listens to last minute holiday requests and hands out pre-holiday presents sponsored by the North Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary.
