Pie-rats take over Pendragon

SARANAC LAKE - Christmas Cat and the Pudding Pie-rates, a family friendly holiday musical, begins performances Dec. 19 at Pendragon Theatre.

In this delightful play, a singing cat named Christmas and his shipmate Cookie set sail on the Good Ship Santa Claus. But there's trouble on the high seas when "Pie-Rat" Jolly Roger and his bumbling band of singing and dancing ratlings storm the ship in search of christmas pudding. An enchanting mermaid named Myrtle, a sword fight and plenty of audience participation save Christmas Day and Cat.

Pendragon musical comedy favorites Jason Brill, Scott Eichholz, Lonnie Ford, LJ Schwartau-Swanson and new comer Terry Kemp play the adult roles in the production. Jolly Roger's "ratlings" are played by the following local children: Ivy Huber, Jesse Izzo, Leonie and Johanna Mohrs, Mike Monroe, Easton Moore, Emery and Witter Swanson. Joey Izzo serves as musical director. Mr. Izzo starts the evening off at the piano with a pre-show set of holiday favorites.

Christmas Cat and the Pudding Pirates opens Dec. 19 with a 7 p.m. curtain. There are performances December 20, 22, 23, 27, 28 at 7 p.m. as well. There are two matinee performances scheduled for Dec. 20-21 at 2 p.m.
