PORT HENRY - Moriah Central School's first-ever "Report Card Day" was a success, according to the school principal.
School officials had requested parents come to the school to pick up their child's report card, giving parents and teachers an opportunity to interact.
"Moriah High School would like to thank all the families who took time from their busy schedules to meet with their children's teachers," said Kathy Carr, principal. "I am delighted with the large turn-out and I am happy to announce that 478 parent conferences took place at the school on Nov. 10. We will continue to strive for 100 percent attendance at this event and we certainly seem to be within reach of this goal."
As an incentive to attract parents to school, 30 door prizes were awarded to parents and students received homework passes.
