Citizen soldiers extend their service to state and nation

LATHAM - Maj. Gen. Joseph J. Taluto, the adjutant general, has announced the recent reenlistment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard.

Specialist Rebecca Bell of Dannemora has reenlisted to continue service with the 466th Medical Company Area Support.

"This is the most capable New York National Guard I've seen in my forty-two years of service," Taluto said in remarks to the force.

"Our new recruits from local communities have given us a force that is younger than it has ever been, but at the same time we are stronger and more experienced than ever thanks to the large number of combat veterans filling our ranks," Taluto remarked. "We've got a tremendous amount of military experience out there."
