Church plans confirmation

CROWN POINT - First Congregational Church of Crown Point will host Christmas Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. This week's Christmas meditation will be given by Pastor David Hirtle.

The parish will also share in a Confirmation service for Austin, Charles and Lee Stevens as well as Joshua Berhendt.

Each of the members of the Confirmation class has attended all of the scheduled classes and completed the prescribed material. The classes have shared the the basics in church history (both local and denominational), Biblical history, familiarity and appreciation. Concepts of their faith, as well as church polity were also discussed and explored.

In addition to completing the required homework assignments, the boys have participated in a community outreach program as they helped with the recent Community Holiday Meal along with their counterparts from Sacred Heart. The students also participated in a Youth Sunday Service recently held at the church.

The Service of Confirmation will celebrate with their completion of the required material as well as their understanding of local church life. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. All are welcome.

Wednesday, Dec. 24, there will be candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. with a live nativity.
