Moriah, Ti head all-star selections

Moriah, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D runner up, leads the 2008 Northern Football Conference all-star team.

The Class D team, selected by coaches in Sections VII and X, is dominated by the Vikings.

The all-star offense includes Moriah's Tyler Blaise at quarterback.

Rounding out the backfield are Viking Jim Carlson and Ticonderoga's Josh Huestis.

All-star receivers are Moriah's Brennan Thierry, Ticonderoga's Jake Taylor and Tupper Lake's Jim Merrihew.

On the offensive line are Moriah's Nick Marcotte and Ben Tromblee, Ticonderoga's Jesse Clark and Tyler Bush and Seton Catholic's Jacob Relation.

John Molina of Ticonderoga is the all-star kicker.

Every member of the all-star offense is a senior.

Carlson earned double all-star status on defense. He was named as a defensive back and a kick returner.

Other all-star defensive backs are Taylor of Ticonderoga and Kaleb Gohlke of Seton Catholic.

The linebacking unit includes Thierry of Moriah, Todd Carr and Huestis of Ticonderoga and Tupper Lake's Joe Christmas.

Named to the all-star defensive line are Marcotte of Moriah, Clark and Shane Graser of Ticonderoga and Tupper Lake's Brian Guiney.

Receiving honorable mention are Nick Gilbo and Hayden Whalen of Moriah along with Bryant Austin and Steven Lenhart of Ticonderoga.
