TICONDEROGA - The sounds of the holiday season will fill the air Friday, Dec. 19.
That's when the annual Tiny Tim Christmas Wish concert will be performed at the First United Methodist Church on Wicker Street in Ticonderoga. The show will start at 7 p.m.
The Tiny Tim program provides holiday gifts for needy children.
The concert will feature the Ticonderoga High School's Sentinel Big Band conducted by Nelson Shapiro, the Trebled Chorus girls choir and Night Shadows boys choir.
Also performing will be the Ticonderoga Community Band under the direction of Pat Cornell. The community band includes musicians of all ages from Ticonderoga, Hague, Silver Bay, Putnam, Crown Point, Port Henry, Westport, Elizabethtown and Queensbury.
The concert is free, although donations to the Tiny Tim program will be accepted.
As in past years, the Tiny Tim program will rely on gift and cash donations from the community.
People wishing to make donations can also leave them at the Ticonderoga Best Western on Burgoyne Road any time. The hotel is open 24 hours a day.
Donations can also be left at the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce office on Montcalm Street or people can call Helen Gibbs at 585-7429 to arrange pick up.
Checks can be made payable to the Tiny Tim Program.
In 2007 the program provided gifts for 126 children in the Ticonderoga Central School District - Ticonderoga, Hague and Putnam.
This year the Tiny Tim program expects to serve up to 275 children.
