Food pantry benefit

TICONDEROGA - Ticonderoga students will "stuff a bus" today to assist the local food pantry.

Students will man a school bus Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and go door-to-door throughout the town of Ticonderoga collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Ticonderoga Food Pantry.

The goal is to "Stuff A Bus."

This is an effort by the students in Ticonderoga High School to provide the local food pantry with enough food to help those less fortunate, especially during the holiday season.

High school clubs and organizations participating are Key Club, National Honor Society, Adirondack Scholars and Connecting Youth and Communities (CYC).

In addition to the door-to-door "Stuff A Bus" initiative, Wal-Mart has partnered with students to collect non-perishable food items and will allow the bus to park in its parking lot during this time.

If anyone would like to make a financial donation, checks can be made out to the Ticonderoga Food Pantry.
