City of Plattsburgh Parking Ban

PLATTSBURGH - The City of Plattsburgh Department of Public Works is continuing the city-wide parking ban until further notice. The continuation of the ban is in order to evaluate the need for snow removal during the overnight hours.

In a statement issued by the Plattsburgh Police Department at 2 p.m. Friday, weather reports were unclear and until a clear determination can be made on the need for snow removal, the parking ban will remain in effect.

Work crews are on duty until midnight and if the determination is made there is no need for overnight snow removal, the ban will be cancelled.

The parking ban lights will also be activated Sunday, Dec. 14, to illustrate a limited parking ban in the downtown business district to include the south end of the Durkee Street parking lot. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the street within the business district starting at 12:01 a.m. and in the city -owned parking lots at 2:01 a.m. on the morning of Monday, Dec. 15.
