Car on lawn, octogenarian arrested

LAKE GEORGE - The night of Nov. 17, Warren County Sheriff's officers were dispatched to Sewell St. in Lake George Village to investigate a vehicle that was stuck on a lawn. Upon arrival at about 10:30 p.m. they found a 1997 Buick LeSabre stuck on the grass in front of a residence.

The officers determined that Harry Carlson Jr, 82, of Prospect St, Lake George, had been operating the vehicle.

Police gave Carlson a breath test to determine blood-alcohol level, and he tested 0.16 percent, failing the state maximum standard, according to authorities.

Carlson was arrested for felony Driving While Intoxicated due to a prior DWI conviction in 2004, police said. Carlson was also charged with failure to keep right.

He was released and was directed to appear in Lake George Town Court at a later date.

The arrest was made by Patrol Officer Jeremy Coon.
