Farmers market progress

NORTH CREEK - The Farmers Market group met recently to establish a name for the market and elect an interim Board of Directors.

It was established by vote of those present that the market be named "North Creek Farmers Market." An interim Board of Directors was voted on and approved. They are as follows: President, Barbara Thomas; Vice President, Michelle San Antonio; Secretary, Sarah Williams; Treasurer, Jim Morris. Other interested citizens on the board are Deb Morris, Mark Kenyon, and Jean Comstock. Karen Hanley of Stork Road Farms is acting in an advisory capacity to the board as is Patricia Tatitch of the Warren County Planning Department.

It has been determined that the best location for the market will be at the Kellogg/Waddell property every Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m., with the idea of tying it in with the Concerts by the River and the UHRR Train rides. The board and committee would like this to become a weekly family event and a reason to shop locally.

Karen Hanley very generously offered to set up our new website. For information, go to www.northcreekfarmersmarket.com. New additions will be ongoing so check back often.

Farmers Market meetings are open to all interested citizens of the community. Our next meeting will be held at Sarah's Caf Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
