Mater Christi School recently celebrated Grandparents Day. The parents of the students were asked to provide the names and addresses of their youngsters' grandparents. Following this, the school sent invitations to each set of grandparents whose addresses it had received.
The day turned out to be a remarkable success, according to school officials. With over 250 grandparents enjoying a continental breakfast, visiting their youngsters classroom and participating in a special prayer assembly.
Visits to many of the classrooms involved the mutual participation of the grandparents and children with grandparents either learning a new skill or having memories awakened to a time when they did these same types of activities when they were younger.
Grandparents, students and teachers are now looking forward to another great day, next year.
