Woodmen present American history awards

CHAZY Woodmen of the World Lodge 462 recently presented nine awards in American history to students at Northern Tier schools. Students were chosen for their proficiency in American History, said lodge president Linda Gonyo-Horne, Their teachers identified them as "clearly demonstrating a knowledge of American history, as well as an appreciation of the high price our country has paid for the freedom we enjoy today." Winners were Alison A. Grovine, Northeastern Clinton Central High School; Tyler S. Kingsbury, Mooers Elementary School; Darian L. Carey, Rouses Point Elementary School; Phillipe McKay, St. Marys Academy, Champlain; Rian Jock, Beekmantown High School; Joey Speer, Northern Adirondack Central High School; Zachary Hughes, NAC Elementary School; Kirsten E. Parker, Chazy Central Rural High School; and Katharine I. Tooke Chazy Central Rural Middle School. The American History award is part of the patriotic program that Woodmen of the World offers the local community.
