Fleeing motorcycle faces many charges

LAKE GEORGE Two motorcyclists fled pursuing police at in a high-speed chase early Saturday through the village, resulting in one of them being charged with a variety of misdemeanors, but the second suspect got away, police said. Arrested and charged with drunken driving, reckless driving and fleeing a police officer was Jaroslaw Chalupka of New Britain, Conn. A Warren County patrol officer initially saw the two motorcyclists speeding through the village at about 4 a.m. and attempted to stop them but they fled, police said. Chalupka was stopped miles away on Lake Shore Drive in the town of Bolton, police said. Chalupkas DWI charge was because his blood-alcohol content was .016, twice the maximum legal level, police said. Chalupka was also charged with excessive speed, failing to keep right, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, passing in a no-passing zone and passing on the right, police said. Sheriffs patrol officer Jason Martindale arrested Chalupka. He was assisted by the state Police and the Bolton Police Dept.
