Castleton golf event to help seniors, disabled

CASTLETON The Fourth Annual Castleton Community Center Golf Outing will be held at the Lake St. Catherine County Club on Friday Sept. 26. This years event will be held in memory of Ron Roberts, past president of the Castleton Community Center and active in establishing the CCC Golf Outing. Proceeds from the handicap scramble tournament are used to support the centers elderly and disabled transportation program. The Castleton Community Center provides over 4,800 rides each year for medical purposes, senior meals, adult day care, hospital or nursing home visits and essential food or clothing shopping. The CCC van service provides seniors and the disabled the flexibility and independence that allows them to remain in their homes and improve their quality of life. Sponsorship opportunities are still available and are greatly appreciated. Call the center at 802-468-3093 for information. The tournament registration begins at 11:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The tournament fee is $105 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, event gifts and prizes and dinner at the country club. Golfers will have a chance to win a $10,000 hole-in-one cash prize. For registration or information call the center at 802-468-3093.
