SOUTH BURLINGTON On Aug. 15, at approximately 1:57 a.m., the Vermont State Police in Williston were advised of a one vehicle collision that had occurred on the on-ramp of Interstate-189 eastbound near the Route 7N intersection in South Burlington. Investigation revealed Joy A. Bergeron, age 39, of Willisotn, was traveling east onto the on-ramp when she veered off the southside of the roadway and struck a light post, knocking it down. She continued east until the vehicle collided with a guardrail on the same side of the roadway, where it came to rest. As a result of the investigation Bergeron was arrested for DUI and processed at the Williston barracks, where her BAC was determined to be over two-times the legal limit of .08%. She was released with a citation to appear in Chittenden District Court on Sept. 4. Bergeron was also issued a traffic ticket for failing to maintain control of her vehicle on the interstate highway.
