Rain doesn't dampen spirits at Ti Car Show

TICONDEROGA Even with the occasional rain shower, the 16th annual Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce Antique & Classic Car Show was well attended with entrants coming from Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Canada. Several exhibitors arrived on Saturday to participate in a Poker Run Cruise sponsored by Adams Rib Restaurant. The cruise started in Ti and continued to Fort Anne, Lake George Village, through Hague and ended back in Ti. In each location, participants were given a playing card to complete a poker hand. Cash prizes were awarded to the top poker hands. On Sunday, over 100 trophies were awarded to participants with an additional 9 Special Awards going to the top cars in the show which included: The Vehicle Most Likely To Get Pulled Over was a 1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe Street Rod owned by Gary & Roxanne Egan of Schroon Lake, NY. Club Participation went to The North Warren Car Club, Chaz Lasher, President. The Longest Distance Award went to Paul & Joanne Whooten from Middleboro, MA, traveling 310 miles to attend the show. The Chambers Choice Award went to Gerald Clinen from Waterford, NY with his 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. Best of Show Motorcycle went to Ted Peeters from Ticonderoga with his 1946 Indian Chief. Best of Show Street Rod went to Fred & Sheila Fish from Queensbury, NY with their 1936 Dodge Business Coupe. Best of Show Truck went to Matt & Christine Halliday from Pittsford, VT with their 1958 GMC Pickup. Best of Show Car went to Don & Linda Gobin from Seekonk, MA with their 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. Our two Super Wheels winners were Ron & Sandy Walker from Peru, NY with their 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, and Matt & Christine Halliday from Pittsford, VT with their 1958 GMC Pickup. Super Wheels winners are invited to show in Boston, MA in October at the Super Wheels Showdown on Boston Plaza. This features the best of the best show & Cruise-in Vehicles in the northeast region. These vehicles will also be featured in Cruisin New England Magazine.
