Rotary donates to High Peaks Hospice

LAKE GEORGE High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care agency recently received a donation from the Lake George Rotary Club, the health agency announced this week. High Peaks Hospice is very grateful to receive a $1,750 grant from the Rotarians, said agency Development Coordinator Sunday Conine. These funds will allow for the purchase of new laptops for our development staff, which will streamline our fundraising efforts and further community outreach. The Lake George Rotary raised the money by selling raffle tickets to win a Honda Gold Wing touring motorcycle during the annual Americade rally in Lake George. My husband, brother and a close friend had a great time selling tickets, Conine added. Representatives of organizations benefiting from the Rotary Clubs fund drive at Americade typically help solicit donations at the rally, according to Club official Nancy Jefts. She said Monday the Americade fundraiser brings in about $50,000 annually, and the club earns another $20,000 per year fthrough other fundraising activities. High Peaks Hospice relies on the generosity of their supporters, including local businesses and organizations, without whom care could not be provided to so many patients and families in the region, Conine said. High Peaks Hospice is a not-for-profit health care organization that provides specialized end-of-life care to the terminally ill and their loved ones.
