ESSEX Sunday, August 17 is the date slated for a community picnic at Beggs Park sponsored by the United Methodist women of the Essex Community Church. The picnic will take place from noon to 2 p.m. with sandwiches, salads, watermelon, and more. A $6 donation is requested. All proceeds will benefit High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care.
