Maritime Fest set for Aug. 15-17

BURLINGTON In support of his upcoming solo album, The Green Sparrow, Mike Gordon will perform a free concert Friday, Aug. 15, at Burlington Waterfront Park overlooking Lake Champlain. In addition to Gordons performance, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will address attendees. Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck will open the show. Ive always wanted to play a free show in Vermont, especially down by the lake, which was what originally lured me here in the first place said Gordon. As for Senator Sanders involvement Ive been a Bernie supporter for over 20 years now, and I am always glad to help get his message out to Vermonters. The Lake Champlain Maritime Festival 2008, held Aug. 15-17, will join with the many attractions and activities that line the Waterfront to celebrate the past, present and future of Lake Champlain and the Burlington waterfront. A jam-packed schedule of historical, educational and performing arts events at multiple waterfront venues promises a great time for everyone.
