St. George Schoolhouse

To the editor: We are trying to organize a event to happen on Aug. 10, at 10 a.m., rain or shine. We have just taken over the old one-room schoolhouse in Saint George. Over the past year we researched and have located the missing deed of the schoolhouse and we have gotten all parties involved to sign over the school house to this new non-profit organization as well as got the town to give us a piece of town land to move the school house on. We are asking that all former students stop in and tell us a story , shows us some photos and to share old times with us. We will be cleaning up the property and holding a open house and hope to have a pot luck style lunch. We have some photos to share as well. We are looking for anyone to volunteer with any or all aspects of this endeavor. We need to raise approx $250,000 to refurbish and move the building. If you know how to write grants or have photos of the building or know how to sure up a building or can brush hog we can use your help. All is welcome to bring a dish to share as well. P Please contact me, Lori Ring, at 802-482-3747 leave a message and someone will get back to you. We ask that everyone park at the town of Saint George town office and follow the mowed path to the school house. Bring your tools and gloves as well as anything else you can think of. Thank you. Lori Ring, Saint George Historical Schoolhouse Restoration Society, Saint George
