MCS students to help COTS community efforts

BURLINGTON Mater Christi School has adopted the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) as one of its volunteer activities this year, according to Sr. Joanne LaFreniere. LaFreniere said two representatives from COTS, Deb Boutin and Ashley George, addressed the students and staff at a school assembly, giving them information on the history of COTS and its role in the Burlington area. The students and staff of MCS have formed a team for the COTS Walkathon which will take place Sunday, May 4. In preparation for the Walk, the Mater Christi School community has been raising funds for COTS through a variety of means, one of which is jeans day for students and staff and a pot luck lunch( for the teachers who bring in the food and pay $5 to share in it).
