Westelcom receives state commendation for customer service

PLATTSBURGH Westelcom Communications was recently awarded the New York State Public Service Commission Commendation for Excellent Service in 2007. Presented annually, the award recognizes telephone companies that consistently provide the highest levels of service and quality to customers in New York State. This marks the second consecutive year Westelcom Communications has been so honored by the PSC. Westelcom Communications prides itself on delivering the highest level of quality to our customers, said Westelcom Paul Barton, president and general manager. This commendation recognizes Westelcoms ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction as a top priority while moving forward with innovative and valuable delivery of advanced business services across Northern New York. The annual commendation recognizes excellent service based on providers performance relative to service quality standards set forth by the PSC. The commendations are based on two metrics Customer Trouble Report Rates and the PSC Complaint Rate, or the number of complaints received each year by the commission per 1,000 access lines. Westelcom is a local communications solutions provider that offers advanced telecommunications services to homes and businesses exclusively to the North Country. The companys product offerings include phone services, including unlimited long distance calling, telephone systems, computer networking & branch office connectivity, data services such as broadband Internet, offsite data storage/back-up and firewall security, and Web design and hosting. Westelcom is a subsidiary of Chazy and Westport Telephone, which has regional offices in Chazy, Plattsburgh, Watertown and Westport.
