Church welcomes new pastor

EAST MIDDLEBURY Members of Valley Bible Church of East Middlebury announced the arrival of a new pastor, the Rev. Edward Wheeler, of Whitehall, N.Y. He has begun his ministry while continuing to operate a business with offices in Rutland, Burlington, and Bennington The Fidelity Hearing Center. Wheelers wife Anne is the director of the Carenet Pregnancy Center in Rutland. The Wheelers have three children and two grandchildren. They were missionaries with the International Christian Fellowship in Bangladesh for 4 years before becoming part of the National Rural Electrification Project there. The Wheelers remained in Bangladesh a total of 20 years, until 1996. The reverend took undergraduate work at Houghton College and the Johns Hopkins University, receiving Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering Science degrees respectively, both in 1971, followed by a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1974. He was a youth pastor in Indianapolis before going to Bangladesh.
