Group rescues greyhounds, seeks donations

Greyhound Rescue of Vermont and Fast Friends in New Hampshire are seeking donations of bedding for the 100 plus very special greyhounds waiting for their forever homes. The public response to the fall 2007 blanket drive was overwhelming, providing much comfort and warmth to greyhound dogs initially rescued from regional dog tracks. Several of those greyhounds have found homes with us here in Vermont and several more will be coming soon. The need for bedding is ongoing since more dogs have been acquired and the original blankets and quilts have worn out through heavy use and frequent laundering. Spring cleaning and donate your clean blankets, quilts and other bedding. Other items that are needed include toys, treats, towels, and instance rice. The following drop off locations will accept donations during their regular business hours: Animal Hospital of Hinesburg Fitzgerald Veterinary Hospital (Colchester) Middlebury Animal Hospital PetSmart of Williston Greyhound Rescue of Vermont is planning its annual Supper/Fun and Games Night on Friday, May 2, 6-9 p.m., at St. John Vianney Parish Hall in South Burlington.
