Visitors bueau welcomes new media communications manager

LAKE PLACID The Lake Placid/Essex County Visitors Bureau welcomes Chris Ward on board as the new media/communications manager. Originally from upstate New York, Ward spent time working in New York City after graduating from Ithaca College. He began his career at Jive Records, working with international recording artists and then segued to MTV as an associate producer working with several prominent artists. Most recently while in New York, Ward produced events for one of the largest multinational entertainment retailers, Virgin Entertainment Group. His events primarily included music, movies, and book releases for Virgin. Seeking variety and diversity in his career, Ward then moved to Seattle in 2006 to work as a freelance consultant for Publicity Ideas and Events. Wards marketing experience highlights an emphasis on reaching out effectively to younger people in ever-evolving electronic media outlets as well as sound event management and communications skills. As the newest member of the Lake Placid/Essex County Visitor's Bureau team I hope to contribute to the first rate professionalism of the office that continually highlights the value, beauty, and eccentricity of the region, says Ward. When you choose us as a destination we want to give you something tangible so that you not only to remember the experience, but will have no choice but to tell others. Chris Ward brings the Bureau a new and fresh approach to our marketing and communications, said President James McKenna. With the changing demographics and changing media we now have more opportunities to reach more consumers in more specific and targeted ways then ever before. Chris experience will help us adapt to these new ways.
