North Creek Quilters form new organization

JOHNSBURG A popular Fiber Arts class has led to the formation of a new organization in the Town of Johnsburg, the North Creek Quilters. For several years Town of Johnsburg Library has offered a Fiber Arts Series including quilting, knitting, silk painting and other fiber arts for both children and adults. The new group is an outgrowth of this well-attended free series which is administered by Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC). The mission of North Creek Quilters is to promote the common interests of its members, to educate, be educated, and to ensure that a well-run organization is provided for the enhancement and enjoyment of its members, as well as providing service to the community. Quilters of all skill levels are invited to join. Bring your sewing machine and any project currently underway. The group meets the first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. and the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Outreach Center on Route 28, North Creek. For further information e-mail Susan Therio at stherio1@frontiernet.net or call the Town of Johnsburg Library at (518) 251-4343.
