On April 13, at approximately 4 a.m., Vermont State Police troopers (New Haven) investigated a one vehicle accident involving a black 2006 Toyota Tundra. The operator, Paul OToole, age 52, of Middlebury, was southbound on Bristol Road in Monkton when he lost control of his vehicle. Off-duty Sheriffs Deputy Matthew Tatro called the accident into the State Police. The Tundra also matched a vehicle seen driving erratically in Middlebury earlier in the evening. Troopers Cappetta and Conway arrived at the scene and observed that OToole had a substantial odor of intoxicants emitting from his person. OToole was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
