To the editor: During the recent power outage in Schroon Lake, I witnessed what a small town was really like. Our firemen made phone calls and knocked on doors. Im told they even brought a lady by ambulance to the firehouse, where the Ladies Auxiliary served breakfast and lunch. When the power was not restored by dinner time, all enjoyed a meal furnished by the Red Cross, who also helped serve and clean up. Also on Tuesday, when I came home, I found that I had no hot water.
