Charlotte author to discuss Japanese-American traditions

BRISTOL Bento boxes, a unique type of Japanese packed meal, will be the topic of discussion on Thursday, April 10, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Lawrence Memorial Library in Bristol. Charlotte-based author Linda Furiya will discuss her food memoir Bento Box in the Heartland: My Japanese Girlhood in Whitebread America. At the event, there will be a chance for participants to taste typical bento box food and try their hands at arranging a bento box.
