The Upstate Brain Drain

Though there is a great deal to do, Im pleased with the results of a number of initiatives that have taken place in the Town of Plattsburgh. Currently, there are too many new businesses, expansion of existing companies and projects in various stages of development to name them all. I believe we are on the edge of significant growth and development that will slow the brain drain in our region. Take a slow drive around town and you will see for yourself something is happening.

Change is a process and not an event. I believe the process has begun and opportunity will come our way. It takes hard work, but it also takes a positive community attitude, not always an easy task. We must work together and eliminate self-centered parochial views and short-term decision-making if we are to achieve valuable long term goals. Its my sincere hope that everyone will be able to find a way to take advantage and work to improve their personal situation. Lets help our young people and skilled workers discover what a great life and lifestyle they can achieve in the Champlain Valley.
