Creating a warm, rustic Adirondack style with specialty woods produced locally

Ollie Burgess, owner of Specialty Woods, said that specialty products filled a needed niche for home owners. People who are looking for a specific product can have it made to their specifications.

We fill a void for products that can't be obtained through a franchise lumber store, said Burgess.

Speciality Wood Products offers Adirondack and brainstorm siding, naturally curved log arches, white birch bark and twig mosaic, branches/railing infill and filigree, cedar railing, lean to kits, wide live edge plank, slab siding and trim and specialty logs and accessories.

Specialty Wood Products work predominately with white cedar and white pine, and has twelve different hardwoods in stock. Burgess said that any wood native to the Adirondacks could be supplied. Hemlock, he explained, is becoming increasingly popular for use near water as people try to avoid treated wood.

We offer an availability of products people can't get anywhere else. What we do is give a greater, more diverse availability. From bark to branches to lumber to logs anything in that grows in or on a tree, we have for sale, said Burgess.
