Ticonderoga and Moriah recorded Northern Football Conference victories over the weekend.
Ticonderoga 12, Plattsburgh 0
Ticonderoga used a rugged running game and a tough defense to beat Plattsburgh, 12-0, Sept. 14.
The Sentinel defense was the star of the game, limiting Plattsburgh to 95 yards in total offense. Plattsburgh only reached Ti territory twice once after starting on their own 47.
Evan Glading and Jake Taylor each had an interception to lead the Sentinel defense.
On offense it was Steven Lenhart and Krys Ross leading the way for Ti.
Ross ran for 74 yards and a touchdown and Lenhart added 54 yards and a TD.
Lenhart got Ticonderoga on the board with a 40-yard TD run in the opening period.
Ross scored his touchdown from 15 yards out in the second period.
The win improved Ticonderoga to 2-1 on the season.
Moriah 20, Beekmantown 0
Moriah dominated on defense to beat Beekmantown, 20-0, Sept. 15.
The Viking defense held Beekmantown to 2 yards rushing and 69 yards total offense.
After a scoreless first half, Moriah got on the board with a long drive top open the third period. James Carlson scored the touchdown on a 5-yard pas from Tyler Blaise. Nick Slattery added the two-point conversion on a pass from Blaise.
After Beekmantown fumbled at its own 27 to set up Moriah in the fourth quarter, the Vikings scored on an 8-yard run by Steve Owens for a 14-0 lead.
Nick Slattery then iced the game for Moriah, returning a punt 60 yards for a TD and a 20-0 margin.
