What perfect weather this weekend offered us, especially Saturday afternoon! This is my favorite time of year when the air is crisp and clear. This coming week sounds just as nice as last week and that is a good thing! We do, however, desperately need some rain and we are looking at next weekend at least before that shows up.
The Lake Champlain Quarter Horse Club will present an American Quarter Horse Association-approved show Saturday, Sept. 29, and Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Morrisonville. For further information, call 1-806-376-4811.
The game "Plattsburghopoly" has hit the shelves locally. The Monopoly-like game with a Plattsburgh twist is a fund raiser to help the colleges community service projects and alternative spring breaks. What a fun idea and a fund 7.raiser that all could use. To order a game call Stephanie Luiz, fund raising project manager at PSUC at 564-4825.
Our local eateries have taken a hard hit this past week! Lums closed their doors after many years at the same location. Our best to Jim Williams and his staff as they move on from here. The North Country Club in Keeseville has closed and if that was not a North Country icon, I cant imagine what one would be! We have good friends going through withdrawal at the thought of no more of their famous pizza! Glorias in Mineville, the purveyor of wonderful buffets, has closed also and the Moose is Loose Caf頩n Essex has announced when they close their doors at the end of the month, that will be the end. They are not opening again in the spring.
Big Sky Airline is coming along with Allegiant Air and that is wonderful news. The airport will be a busy place before too long!
