Moriah supervisors honored

Rushby served as supervisor in 1998 and again 2000 to 2003. He had previously served a mayor of the village of Port Henry from 1997 to 1998.

Daby noted Rushbys commitment to both the village and town.

Waldron was the first and to date only woman to serve as Moriah supervisor. She served 1999-2000. She also served previously as deputy town clerk for 12 years, from 1972 to 1987, and she was town clerk from 1987 to 1998 and served on the town board four years, a total of 31 years working for the town of Moriah, Daby pointed out. Another very dedicated person, working on our behalf.

The bicentennial committee also honored Moriahs oldest residents during Labor Day activities. Cited were Louise Bush of Port Henry, Helen Riddle of Mineville and Cecelia Glavin, who now lives in a nursing facility in Ticonderoga. All are 96 years old.
