Mackey seeks fourth term as Warrensburg Town Councilman

WARRENSBURG Austin Markey is currently seeking re-election to a fourth term as Warrensburg Town Councilman.

Austin says that he has worked on the South Street sewer expansion grant, Ridge Avenue extension sewer expansion, recreation field youth grant, promulgation of the Industrial Park and has helped keep the town portion of the land taxes to less than one percent for 10 consecutive years.

Austin believes that the issues that are currently facing the town are the expansion of the sewer district, holding taxes to a minimum, promoting new business to the community, increasing the tax base and concentrating more on town issues.

Pumping and/or maintaining the current sewer lagoons on a yearly basis as well as combining all sewer expansions into one district will help better control spending and not increase rates.

I am an effective member of the town board and I am not afraid to speak out on tough issues, Markey said. We need to work together for the best interests of the tax payers of the town. All board members should put their special interests aside and concentrate on town issues."

Austin is endorsed by the Republican Party for the Sept. Primary as well as being endorsed by the Conservatives and Democrats in the General Election in November.
