Dr. Margaret M. Gold decides against moving to Smith House

WILLSBORO The Smith House Health Care Center is disappointed to announce that Dr. Margaret M. Gold has decided to exercise the voluntary termination option in her contract.

Chairman of the Board of Director, H. Nicholas Muller, III., expressed his disappointment that Dr. Gold decided not to make the move to Willsboro as the Medical Director of the Smith House.

Everyone has second thoughts about changing jobs and giving up the known for the unknown. In Dr. Golds case the change also meant a disruptive 3,000 mile move for her and her family from the west coast of Oregon, said Muller.

Our current medical staff continues to provide quality health care for our patients and community members and we will resume our search for a Medical Director that is a good fit for our community, said Robin Pierce, Executive Director of Smith House.

Dr. Rob Demuro, MD of Elizabethtown Community Hospital will continue to serve as Medical Director of Smith House.

The Smith House has renewed its nationwide search for a Medical Director and expects to interview candidates in the near future.
