TICONDEROGA In an effort to coordinate area events and to help lower the instance of multiple events being held at the same time, all area groups are asked to contact the Ticonderoga Chamber of Commerces Events Calendar Central before and after an event date is selected.
It can be very disappointing to find an event was not successful or well attended because something else was happening on the same date, said chamber Director Deb Malaney. A quick call to the chambers Events Calendar Central can prevent many of those instances from happening.
This will be especially helpful when large events are being planned.
On more than one occasion our lodging properties and restaurants found themselves filled to capacity and turning away business, having to send many additional visitors out of the area, Malaney said.
Better coordination and scheduling of events will allow for more visitor overnight stays, in addition to insuring the success of the individual event.
In addition, the chamber currently hosts a website with an Events Calendar Central page. The public can view current happenings or submit events themselves via the website at
. The submissions will be posted after review.
Events Calendar Central submissions should contain the organization name, event name, location, date, time, cost and contact information.
